Freight Analytical Support Tools (FAST)

Our FAST team of applied economists specialize in quantitative spatial supply and disposition analysis as it relates to freight transportation market research problems. These are precisely the skills needed for conducting market analysis for emerging and non-existing services.

RNO's FAST Dashboard

RNO's FAST LaneFinder dashboard tool, developed in partnership with Exceed Analysis, and powered by Tableau, a best-of-breed analytic software, is highly effective dashboard for identifying and prioritizing freight service lanes.  It allows carriers and service providers to identify "hidden" freight lanes that fall under the radar of traditional freight database tools.  The problem with existing freight data sources is that they don’t have robust market data for new and emerging freight transportation services.  When a new service or lane is being evaluated, there typically are little or no data to support investment choices.  Our economist are experts in data, not only as data-interpreters, but in the ability to see and understand impacts that are often missed or unavailable in conventional market research data. The tools we have developed provide insight into weak data gaps.  The FAST LaneFinderTM tool allows for the creation of interactive graphics for users to explore, filter, sort and analyze freight opportunities at a level of detail that is ready for action.  Results and findings can easily be exported to Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, as graphics, cross-tabulations, and even raw data. The data can also be displayed online using Tableau's free stand-alone software (Tableau Reader) and web-based solutions for multiple interactive delivery mechanisms. The free stand-alone reader delivery mechanism allows Tableau to be used alongside existing computing environments and requires minimal IT involvement in most cases.  Note:  The data portrayed in this demo are a partial representation of actual results, and are intended for presentation purposes only.
